This is unsustainable - for humans and all other living beings.

Many landowners and some timber companies are beginning to show their commitment to the environment and therefore, in turn, to human well-being, by growing and harvesting timber with sustainability in mind. Their efforts are recognized and supported by the Forest Stewardship Council, which is officially known as FSC
The FSC studies all the processes that result in the materials you find in retail outlets, from growing and caring for the trees and the forest habitat to milling the timber to usable size. They then certify that these materials are good for wildlife by preserving habitat and good for us by ensuring that forests continue to perform the many services they provide to us - maintaining clean air, water, and soil fertility.
